Quarterback Russell Wilson and the Pittsburgh Steelers are focused on moving forward as they prepare for the upcoming playoffs. Despite ending the regular season with four consecutive losses, Wilson emphasizes the importance of looking ahead. "I think what I'm going to say is I don't really want to talk about the past just because I think we have been in that for a little bit here," said Wilson. He added, "It's a new season."
The Steelers are set to play on the road in the postseason, potentially facing either the Houston Texans or Baltimore Ravens. Wilson acknowledges this challenge, stating, "We're going to have to go on the road and get it done." Reflecting on recent games against strong opponents like the Eagles, Ravens, Chiefs, and Bengals, Wilson remains confident. "I feel like everybody we've played, we have had a chance in those games," he noted.
Coach Mike Tomlin addressed their recent loss to the Cincinnati Bengals with a score of 19-17. He pointed out missed opportunities and emphasized routine plays as crucial elements of high-level football. "We certainly had our opportunities to win the game, but we didn't," said Tomlin.
Defensive tackle Cameron Heyward also expressed confidence despite recent setbacks. Having dealt with illness during their last game against the Bengals, Heyward remains optimistic about postseason prospects. "I'm confident," he stated. Heyward believes in focusing on turnovers and complementary team play as they head into playoff matches.
The Steelers' focus now shifts entirely to performing well in their single-elimination tournament format of the playoffs.
