The Pittsburgh Steelers are preparing to face the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 18 with a relatively healthy roster. However, cornerback Donte Jackson will be inactive due to a back injury that resurfaced this week. Jackson had previously missed the Week 16 game against the Ravens but returned for the Christmas Day match against the Kansas City Chiefs. He reported experiencing a "set back" during practice.

In positive news for the Steelers' defense, cornerback Joey Porter Jr. is set to return after missing the game against the Chiefs with a knee injury. Porter expressed his eagerness to play and his readiness for the matchup against Bengals receiver Tee Higgins, who recorded five receptions for 69 yards and a touchdown in their previous encounter.

"I wanted to get out there as soon as possible," Porter stated after Thursday's practice. "I'm back now. I'm healthy. I feel good. So, I'm ready to play."

Porter anticipates facing Higgins again and acknowledged his opponent's strengths: "I think overall he's a good receiver... He's got Joe Burrow, a great quarterback... They're just clicking."

The Steelers aim to break their three-game losing streak as they head into this crucial game before postseason play begins.

"I feel like we all want to get rid of that bad taste," said Porter regarding recent losses. "We are just trying to show everybody that we know how to play defense still."
