On Tuesday night in Pittsburgh, it was Pawl Skenes night at the ballpark. Pirates fans took Pup Night to another level by dressing their dogs with kerchiefs bearing Skenes' No. 30 and tiny black mustaches. This gesture highlighted Skenes' role in reviving the mustache trend in baseball, extending his influence even to canine fans.

Skenes delivered a notable pitching performance, recording the longest outing of his major league career with 8 1/3 innings and eight strikeouts. However, the game concluded on a less favorable note for him as he allowed the go-ahead run in the ninth inning, marking the first loss of his professional career.

Despite this outcome, it is likely that these enthusiastic fans and their costumed pets will return for more of Skenes' future games. Perhaps next time, there might be a feline-themed event to celebrate his growing popularity.
