Dean Lowry signs two-year contract after eight seasons in NFL

Defensive lineman Dean Lowry has signed a two-year contract this offseason, marking his ninth season in the NFL. Lowry previously spent seven seasons with the Green Bay Packers (2016-2022) and last season with the Minnesota Vikings. He was drafted by the Packers in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft as the 137th overall pick.

Lowry has appeared in 120 games, starting 84. His career statistics include 266 tackles, with 143 being solo stops, 23 tackles for loss, 15.5 sacks, and 32 quarterback hits. Additionally, he has recorded 17 passes defensed, one interception, five fumble recoveries—one returned for a touchdown—and one forced fumble.

During his tenure with the Packers, Lowry played in 111 games and started in 80 of them. His contributions included 252 tackles (139 solo), along with consistent defensive plays such as four fumble recoveries and one interception.

Beyond his on-field performance, Lowry is noted for his community involvement since joining the NFL. He has visited children at Milwaukee Children's Hospital and participated in building a playground alongside Milwaukee police officers. Moreover, he engaged with veterans at events like Huddle for Heroes at The Turn in Titletown.

In college football at Northwestern University, Lowry started in 33 out of the 48 games he played. His collegiate record includes 134 tackles (83 solo), along with significant defensive stats such as three interceptions—one returned for a touchdown—21 passes defensed, three fumble recoveries, and three forced fumbles.
