Graduates earn 71 degrees, certificates from the Dean Institute of Technology

About 43.7 percent of the 71 degrees and certificates handed out by the Dean Institute of Technology in 2017-18 were to students in construction trades programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private for-profit institution in Pittsburgh conferred 23 associate's degrees and 8 certificates in construction trades programs.

But the single most popular program was for a associate's degree in electrician. Data shows the school gave out 23 associate's degrees in electrician, followed by 21 associate's degrees in heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration engineering technology/technician and 19 certificates in welding technology/welder.

The institute enrolled 146 students for 2017-18, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
