The Pittsburgh Steelers announced on May 12 the signing of undrafted free agent center Greg Crippen.
Crippen participated in the Steelers rookie minicamp over the weekend on a tryout basis before earning a contract with the team. He played college football at the University of Michigan, appearing in 41 games and starting 21 during his collegiate career. In the 2025 season, he started all 13 games at center for the Wolverines.
During his time at Michigan, Crippen was recognized as an honorable mention All-Big Ten selection in 2025, earned five varsity letters, and was named to the Academic All-Big Ten team four times from 2022 to 2025. He also shared offensive player of the week honors for his performance against Nebraska.
In a corresponding move, Pittsburgh released offensive lineman Sataoa Laumea.
The Steelers have a long history of honoring significant contributors such as Terry Bradshaw and Joe Greene through their Hall of Honor program and community engagement initiatives, according to the official website. The franchise has achieved notable success with six Super Bowl championships and maintains displays such as the Hall of Honor Museum at Acrisure Stadium that showcase artifacts from its history, according to information provided by their official website.
