The Pittsburgh Steelers announced on Mar. 17 that they have signed safety Jaquan Brisker to a one-year contract.
Brisker, who is originally from Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania, returns to the Pittsburgh area after spending four years with the Chicago Bears. He was drafted by the Bears in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft and started all 52 games he played for them. Over his career, Brisker has recorded 342 tackles, including 214 solo stops, along with seven sacks, four interceptions, four forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries.
Last season, Brisker tied for second on his team with 93 tackles and contributed an interception and eight passes defensed. In 2024, he started five games before being placed on the Reserve/Injured List but managed to record 40 tackles and a sack in those appearances. Notably, in Week 4 of that season, he became only the second Bears defender since at least 1948 to register double-digit tackles, a sack, and an interception in a single game—a feat previously achieved by Roquan Smith in 2022.
Brisker’s earlier seasons also included standout performances such as leading his team with ten tackles against the Raiders in Week 7 of the 2023 season and recording a career-high seventeen tackles against Detroit in Week 13. As a rookie in 2022, he ranked third among all rookies in solo tackles. Before joining the NFL, Brisker played college football at Penn State University where he appeared in thirty-four games and made significant contributions on defense.
