Johnson has spent the past two seasons on the Steelers’ practice squad and was activated multiple times during that period. He originally joined the National Football League as an undrafted free agent with the Denver Broncos after the 2022 NFL Draft, spending time both on their practice squad and active roster over two seasons. Johnson also had a stint with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ practice squad.
Over his career, Johnson has played in 23 games, including three starts, recording 26 receptions for 335 yards and five touchdowns. In the previous season, he appeared in 13 games for Denver, making 19 catches for 284 yards and four touchdowns.
Johnson played college football at the University of Central Florida for one season after transferring from Tennessee. During his collegiate career, he appeared in 57 games with totals of 117 receptions for 1,534 yards—a per-catch average of 13.1 yards—and scored twelve touchdowns.
