The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed linebacker Kenny Willekes. Willekes previously played with the Minnesota Vikings during the 2021 season, appearing in six games and recording 18 tackles, including 11 solo stops, two tackles for a loss, and a pass defensed.
In 2024, Willekes played in the USFL for the Michigan Panthers. Over nine games, he made 21 tackles and four sacks. His college career was at Michigan State University, where he was named the National Defensive Lineman of the Year in 2018. He was also selected twice to the All-Big Ten team in 2018 and 2019 and received his team’s Most Valuable Player honors both years.
As part of this roster move, the Steelers waived/injured offensive tackle Gareth Warren.
