The Pittsburgh Steelers have started the process of reducing their roster ahead of the NFL’s mandatory deadline. The team announced on August 23, 2025, that they have released 11 players as part of their efforts to reach the league’s required 53-man limit by Tuesday, August 26 at 4 p.m.

The releases included five players from both offense and defense, as well as one special teams player. On defense, linebacker Kenny Willekes and defensive backs Kam Alexander, Quindell Johnson, Kyler McMichael, and Mikey Victor were let go. Offensive departures included offensive linemen Doug Nester and Julian Pearl, quarterback Logan Woodside, running back Evan Hull, and tight end Kevin Foelsch. Long snapper Jake McQuaide was released from special teams.
