The Pittsburgh Steelers are preparing for their upcoming Wild Card game against the Baltimore Ravens, with practice sessions underway at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex.

Rookie guard Mason McCormick, who was limited in practice due to a broken hand sustained in the season finale against the Cincinnati Bengals, remains hopeful about his participation. Coach Mike Tomlin stated, “He’ll be sized for a cast and or a brace and check functionality there.” McCormick expressed optimism after Tuesday’s practice, saying, “It’s feeling a lot better already.”

Cornerback Donte Jackson, who missed the previous game due to back issues, is expected to play on Saturday. However, his condition will be monitored throughout the week. “Donte Jackson was held out last week with ongoing back issues,” Tomlin noted. Second-year cornerback Cory Trice Jr., who started in Jackson’s absence, received praise from Tomlin: “I thought largely he did some nice things.”

Cameron Heyward missed Tuesday’s practice because of an illness. Offensive tackle Calvin Anderson returned to practice but remains on the Reserve/Injured List. The Steelers have 21 days to activate him.

Anderson has played 46 career games since signing as an undrafted free agent with the New England Patriots in 2019. His career includes stints with the Patriots, New York Jets, and Denver Broncos.

The Steelers’ injury report lists several players’ statuses for Tuesday: Roman Wilson (hamstring), Donte Jackson (back), Cole Holcomb (knee), Logan Lee (calf), Mason McCormick (hand), Calvin Anderson (groin), Isaac Seumalo (resting), MyCole Pruitt (knee), and Cameron Heyward (illness).
