The Pittsburgh Steelers have placed safety DeShon Elliott and defensive tackle Daniel Ekuale on the Reserve/Injured List following injuries sustained during Sunday night’s game against the Green Bay Packers.
Elliott suffered a knee injury, while Ekuale injured his ACL. Elliott has started five games this season, accumulating 38 tackles, including 20 solo stops, one tackle for loss, an interception, and two passes defensed. The Steelers re-signed Elliott to a two-year contract in the offseason after he played with the team in 2024.
Elliott was originally drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Over his career, he has played in 77 games with 69 starts, recording 429 tackles (291 solo), 25 passes defensed, four and a half sacks, five interceptions, six forced fumbles, and five fumble recoveries.
Ekuale joined the Steelers this offseason on a one-year deal as an unrestricted free agent. He has appeared in seven games this season with six tackles (four solo) and one pass defensed. Throughout his career spanning 61 games with 21 starts, Ekuale has recorded 97 tackles (53 solo), eight tackles for loss, six sacks, ten quarterback hits, two passes defensed, and one forced fumble.
