The Pittsburgh Steelers announced several roster changes on Wednesday. Tight end Darnell Washington was placed on the Reserve/Injured List after sustaining a broken arm during the Week 17 game against the Cleveland Browns. Coach Mike Tomlin confirmed Washington’s injury, and noted that he had contributed 31 receptions for 364 yards and one touchdown this season.
Offensive lineman Jack Driscoll was promoted from the practice squad to the active 53-man roster. Driscoll joined the Steelers’ practice squad on October 29 and had previously been elevated for games against the Miami Dolphins, Detroit Lions, and Cleveland Browns in Weeks 15 through 17. He was originally drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft and played five seasons with them, appearing in 67 games with 18 starts. Driscoll played college football at Auburn University for two seasons after spending two years at Massachusetts.
Additionally, tight end Jaheim Bell was signed to the practice squad. Bell entered the league as a seventh-round pick by the New England Patriots in the 2024 NFL Draft out of Florida. He appeared in 15 games for New England, recording two catches for 20 yards, and also spent time on the Philadelphia Eagles’ practice squad this year.
