As the Pittsburgh Steelers prepare for training camp at Saint Vincent College on July 23, they bring a new group of quarterbacks. The team has included Aaron Rodgers, Mason Rudolph, Skylar Thompson, and rookie Will Howard in this year’s lineup.

This change follows last year’s quarterback roster that featured Russell Wilson, Justin Fields, Kyle Allen, and undrafted rookie John Rhys Plumlee. In the previous season, Wilson and Fields combined to start all 17 games for the Steelers, achieving 3,245 yards with 21 touchdown passes and six interceptions. They also contributed an additional seven touchdowns through rushing but faced 49 sacks throughout the season.

Aaron Rodgers joins the Steelers after spending two seasons with the Jets. Despite a challenging year due to a torn Achilles’ tendon in 2023 and operating behind a low-volume rushing attack in 2024, Rodgers managed nearly 3,900 passing yards with 28 touchdown passes and 11 interceptions. He was sacked 40 times on his pass attempts last season.

Mason Rudolph returns to the Steelers after playing one season with Tennessee. During his time there, he completed 64 percent of his passes for 1,530 yards with nine touchdowns and nine interceptions across eight games.

Skylar Thompson adds further depth as a veteran quarterback who has previously started a playoff game during his time with the Dolphins in 2022.

Rookie Will Howard comes into training camp following an impressive college career. After transferring from Kansas State to Ohio State last season, Howard led the Buckeyes to win the national championship. He completed 73 percent of his passes for over 4,000 yards with notable performance during the college playoffs.

The upcoming training camp will provide these quarterbacks an opportunity to establish their roles within the team ahead of the new NFL season.
