The Pittsburgh Steelers will highlight their ongoing support for youth football during tonight’s preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. As part of Play Football Month, children who participated in the Steelers Youth Football Camps this summer will help unfurl the Terrible Towel before kickoff.

The Seneca-Iroquois High Schools Air Force Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps Joint Color Guard is set to present the colors at the event. Natalie Hardy, a junior at Canon-McMillan High School and winner of the Rising Star Competition by Women Who Rock, will perform the National Anthem.

Youth football co-captains Carter Woy and Charlie Faust have been named as Preseason Co-Captains for the game.

Tonight is also recognized as Steelers Family Day, with activities scheduled from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. These include appearances by mascots from local teams, face painting, games, inflatables, and emergency vehicle displays.

Aaron Smith, a two-time Super Bowl champion with the Steelers, will lead fans in twirling the Terrible Towel in honor of Super Bowl XL’s 20th anniversary. A new exhibit celebrating Super Bowl XL was recently opened at Acrisure Stadium’s Hall of Honor Museum.

At halftime, representatives from Dollar Bank, Jones Day, and S&T Bank will compete in a kicking contest as part of United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania’s annual Kick Off event. The winning company will present a $10,000 check to United Way to start its campaign; Acrisure has pledged a matching donation.

U.S. Army Sgt. Jerry Wilson is being honored as this game’s U.S. Steel Salute to Heroes recipient for his service during his deployment in Ramadi Iraq as a Raven Operator.

Acrisure Stadium Management and the Steelers are urging fans to enter early so they do not miss pregame activities or kickoff. Fireworks displays provided by Zambelli Fireworks are planned one hour and thirty minutes before kickoff as reminders for timely entry into Acrisure Stadium.

Fans attending should note that mobile ticketing remains in place—tickets should be saved to digital wallets prior to arrival—and that Acrisure Stadium operates cashless on gameday. The venue continues to enforce an NFL Clear Bag Policy designed for public safety and streamlined entry procedures using advanced screening machines that allow most personal items to remain on one’s person when entering gates.

Art Rooney Avenue features several pregame experiences such as photo opportunities and interactive zones including a new 40 Yard Dash area available three hours prior to kickoff along with access to Hall of Honor Museum displays and prize giveaways. Stage AE hosts tailgate festivities with live music starting four hours ahead of game time while FedEx Great Hall offers additional amenities like live shows and expanded concessions closer to kickoff.

This year marks the 50th Anniversary of the Terrible Towel; limited-edition gameday posters designed by Brian Dumm are available at the Steelers Pro Shop located on Art Rooney Ave at Acrisure Stadium where fans can also find official team merchandise including sideline gear and jerseys.

Broadcast coverage begins locally on KDKA-TV (CBS) at 7:00 p.m., with pregame programming starting at 6:30 p.m., followed by postgame analysis after final whistle—see affiliate listings for details on TV coverage across other markets.
