The Pittsburgh Steelers have unveiled their 2025 season schedule, sparking interest among players and fans alike. Special teams captain Miles Killebrew expressed a sense of anticipation, stating, “It makes it a little more real… We know who our opponents are, and we are starting off in New York in the regular season.”

While some players closely follow the schedule release, safety Minkah Fitzpatrick takes a different approach. “I know every year at this point we are going to have 17 games,” he said. “I am in the building working now, and I know why I am working. It’s because of those games.”

The Steelers will participate in four primetime matchups this season. Receiver Calvin Austin III emphasized the significance of these games: “It’s about our brand… To be a part of the primetime games, those can be life-changing moments.”

Two home primetime games include an October 26 matchup against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football and a December 15 game against the Miami Dolphins on Monday Night Football. Defensive lineman Keeanu Benton sees these as opportunities to showcase their capabilities: “I love to be able to show the entire nation what we are capable of.”

On the road, they will face the Cincinnati Bengals on October 16 for Thursday Night Football and the Los Angeles Chargers on November 9 for Sunday Night Football. Killebrew noted that primetime games offer wider visibility: “I’m from Las Vegas originally, and so my friends back home can see it a little bit easier.”

Rookie linebacker Jack Sawyer is eager for his chance under bright lights: “It’s going to be awesome… I’m super juiced to contribute to the team any way I can.”

A notable fixture is Week 4’s game against Minnesota Vikings at Croke Park in Dublin, Ireland. Killebrew looks forward to it: “It’s going to be a lot of fun.” The bye week follows this international trip.

The season opener against New York Jets offers free agent cornerback Brandon Echols an opportunity against his former team. Echols commented on facing familiar faces: “It’s going to be fun going against some of my guys for the first time.”

The Steelers’ season concludes with two AFC North rivalries—against Cleveland Browns away and Baltimore Ravens at home—which Austin finds fitting.

Flexible scheduling remains part of NFL’s strategy for quality matchups during key weeks throughout the season.
