The Pittsburgh Steelers have announced several additions and changes to their coaching staff for the upcoming season. James Campen has been named offensive line coach, Jahri Evans will serve as assistant offensive line coach, Ramon Chinyoung Sr. takes over as running backs coach, Adam Henry is the new receivers coach, and Tom Arth will continue in his role as quarterbacks coach.
Campen joins the Steelers with significant experience from various NFL teams. He most recently worked as a scouting consultant for the Green Bay Packers. Before that, he was the offensive line coach for the Carolina Panthers (2022-23), Houston Texans (2021), Los Angeles Chargers (2020), and Cleveland Browns (2019). During his 15-year tenure with the Packers, Campen helped develop seven Pro Bowl offensive linemen and collaborated closely with Coach Mike McCarthy.
Jahri Evans arrives after three seasons with the New Orleans Saints, including a stint as assistant offensive line coach in 2025. As a player, Evans spent 11 seasons with the Saints and finished his career with the Green Bay Packers in 2017 under McCarthy. He started 183 games in total and earned six Pro Bowl selections. Evans has also been recognized by multiple halls of fame and was a finalist for recent Pro Football Hall of Fame classes.
Ramon Chinyoung Sr., who just completed his third season with the Dallas Cowboys, moves into his first role as an NFL running backs coach after serving as an assistant offensive line coach last year. Chinyoung contributed to strong performances by Cowboys players such as Zack Martin and Tyler Smith during his time there.
Adam Henry comes to Pittsburgh following three years as receivers coach for the Buffalo Bills. Under Henry’s guidance, Bills receiver Gabe Davis had a career-high seven touchdown receptions in 2023. Henry’s coaching resume includes roles at Indiana University, Dallas Cowboys, Cleveland Browns—where he coached two 1,000-yard receivers in one season—and earlier positions with several other NFL teams and at LSU.
Tom Arth remains quarterbacks coach after joining Pittsburgh in 2024. In his tenure so far, he has worked with quarterbacks Aaron Rodgers, Mason Rudolph, Russell Wilson, Justin Fields, and rookie Will Howard (who did not play due to injury). Previously, Arth was passing game specialist for the Los Angeles Chargers.
On defense and operations staff changes announced Monday afternoon: Jason Simmons is now defensive pass game coordinator/defensive backs; Scott McCurley is inside linebackers coach; Steve Scarnecchia is chief of staff.
Simmons returns to Pittsburgh after playing four seasons for the Steelers before spending six seasons with Houston Texans. He brings coaching experience from recent roles with Washington Commanders—where their pass defense ranked third in 2024—and previous stints with Las Vegas Raiders and Carolina Panthers.
Scott McCurley enters his second season on Pittsburgh’s staff after five years coaching linebackers for Dallas Cowboys. His work last year helped Patrick Queen and Payton Wilson lead team tackles. Prior experience includes multiple roles over thirteen years on Green Bay Packers’ staff under Mike McCarthy.
Steve Scarnecchia begins his first season as Steelers chief of staff after holding similar positions with Atlanta Falcons (most recently) and New York Jets previously. His responsibilities include coordinating daily meetings and practice schedules along with broader football operations tasks.
The organization continues its focus on building a diverse coaching team featuring extensive NFL backgrounds across both offense and defense.
