The Pittsburgh Steelers have acquired wide receiver DK Metcalf in a trade with the Seattle Seahawks. In exchange, the Steelers will send their second-round pick (52nd overall) and seventh-round pick (223rd overall) in the 2025 NFL Draft to Seattle. Additionally, the Steelers will receive the Seahawks’ sixth-round pick (185th overall) in the same draft. Metcalf has also signed a new five-year contract with Pittsburgh.

Metcalf, who was initially drafted by the Seahawks in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft, spent six seasons with Seattle. During his time there, he played in 97 games and started 93 of them. He recorded 438 receptions for 6,324 yards, averaging 14.4 yards per catch, and scored 48 touchdowns—ranking him eighth among active NFL players.

“I’m a physical receiver,” said Metcalf. “Big shout-out to my pops (Terrence Metcalf) who was an O-lineman in this league for a little bit, so he instilled that in me.”

Metcalf has achieved significant milestones throughout his career including three seasons with over 1,000 receiving yards and ranking first in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns during his initial six seasons with Seattle.

“I felt ecstatic just to hear about the Steelers because I thought of the meeting me and Coach (Mike) Tomlin had at the 2019 Combine,” said Metcalf.

In his final season with Seattle in 2024, Metcalf appeared in 15 games and started 12 times. He caught 66 passes for 992 yards and scored five touchdowns. His performance places him alongside Hall of Famer Randy Moss as one of only two players to achieve at least 50 receptions, 900 yards, and five touchdowns each year for their first six seasons.

Metcalf was recognized as a second-team Associated Press All-Pro selection in 2020 and made two Pro Bowl appearances during his tenure with Seattle.
