The Pittsburgh Steelers’ 2025 schedule has been released, revealing not only their opponents but also the timing of each game. This aspect of scheduling proved crucial for the Steelers last season, when a series of games in a short period led to three consecutive losses.
The 2025 schedule does not include any extended stretches of road games or holiday matchups, issues that challenged the team in 2024. Last year, the Steelers played three games in just 11 days against tough opponents like the Eagles, Ravens, and Chiefs. In contrast, this year’s schedule is more evenly distributed.
Steelers GM Omar Khan expressed confidence in the team’s current roster compared to last year. “I know people make a comparison about last year. It’s not even close to being the same,” Khan stated. The team has invested in receiver DK Metcalf and gained more experience with players like Calvin Austin III and Roman Wilson.
The NFL’s scheduling process aims to predict which teams will be competitive each season. The Steelers have five standalone games this year, indicating expectations for an exciting performance from them.
The team’s travel demands are relatively light despite an international game in Dublin against the Vikings during Week 4. Their total air miles for the season rank ninth fewest among NFL teams.
In addition to their regular season lineup, the NFL announced an expanded international slate featuring seven overseas contests this year. The Vikings will play two consecutive games abroad, including one against Cleveland at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
With minimal travel requirements and strategic player acquisitions, the Steelers aim to improve upon their previous year’s performance while managing new challenges throughout their upcoming season.
