Staff Council announced on March 17 a new initiative to recognize and celebrate the professional achievements, service, and leadership of staff members at the University of Pittsburgh.
The effort aims to highlight the contributions of staff by allowing anyone in the Pitt community to submit accomplishments through dedicated accolade forms. The form is designed specifically for honors that are not awarded by the University itself.
According to Staff Council, all submissions will be shared with the Office of the Chancellor, Pittwire, and the University Times for possible further recognition. Decisions about publication will be made by each respective publication, Staff Council, or the Office of the Chancellor.
Additional guidelines and recent examples of accolades can be found on the Staff Council website. The initiative seeks to foster a culture of appreciation among staff members across campus.
The program reflects ongoing efforts within higher education institutions to support and acknowledge staff contributions beyond formal university awards.
