Skylar Thompson, a professional quarterback, has recently been in the spotlight for several reasons. At the end of the 2024 season, he was signed to a Reserve/Future Contract. This move follows his initial selection by the Miami Dolphins in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft. During his tenure with the Dolphins, Thompson participated in ten games over three seasons, starting three and accumulating 721 passing yards and one touchdown. He also started in one postseason game.

Thompson’s football journey began at Kansas State University, where he played college football as a four-year starter. His college career saw him appearing in 45 games and completing 552 passes for 7,134 yards and 42 touchdowns.

Beyond football, Thompson has made personal contributions off the field. He founded the Thompson Family Cancer Research Fund for the Johnson Cancer Research Center in memory of his mother, Teresa Lynn Thompson, who passed away from breast cancer when he was six years old, and his grandfather, John Walter Thompson, who succumbed to pancreatic cancer seven months later.

On a personal note, Skylar Thompson got engaged to Bre Newcomer in 2024.
