The NHL Players Association has concluded its annual player poll, revealing Pittsburgh Penguins’ captain Sidney Crosby as the ‘Most Complete Player’ for the sixth year in a row. The poll, which engages over 650 NHL players from all 32 teams, allows peers to commend each other across various hockey-related topics.
Crosby topped the ‘Most Complete Player’ category with 33.81% of the vote. He has maintained or shared the lead in this category for six years straight.
In addition, Crosby was acknowledged for his faceoff expertise, leading the ‘If you need to win a faceoff, who would you pick?’ category with 20.39% of the votes. This reflects a 6.8% rise from the previous year when he ranked second to Nashville’s Ryan O’Reilly.
Crosby also received the most votes for ‘Who is the smartest overall player?’, garnering 27.02% of the vote.
Further recognitions for Crosby include finishing fourth in the ‘Who is the best overall forward?’ category and fifth in the ‘Who is the best playmaker?’ category.
The poll also highlighted Kevin Hayes, who led the ‘Who would be a good broadcaster once they retire?’ category with 4.85% of the vote.
