Safety Sebastian Castro joined the Pittsburgh Steelers as an undrafted free agent after the 2025 NFL Draft from Iowa. He started his professional career on the Steelers practice squad before being signed to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ active roster on September 30, where he appeared in one game.
In November, Castro was claimed off waivers by the Steelers and spent the remainder of the season on their 53-man roster. He played in seven games for Pittsburgh and recorded two special teams tackles.
At Iowa, Castro participated in 53 games with 32 starts. His college career included 163 tackles—113 of them solo—along with 14 tackles for loss, 18 passes defensed, five forced fumbles, four interceptions, and two sacks.
The Steelers are recognized for their achievements in football history, including six Super Bowl championships as detailed on their official website: https://www.steelers.com/history/super-bowls/.
