U.S. Representative Summer Lee, who serves Pennsylvania’s 12th district, has used her social media platform to address a range of national and local issues in recent posts.
On August 19, 2025, Lee criticized former President Donald Trump’s statements about election integrity, writing: “Trump is once again peddling his debunked lies to rig our democracy & silence voters to serve himself & his special interests. Mail-in ballots are secure & widely used—including in Republican districts. We must push back against his continuous attempts at executive overreach.”
Later that day, she addressed the release of files related to Jeffrey Epstein by the Department of Justice under Trump’s administration. In her post dated August 19, 2025, Lee stated: “Today is the deadline for Trump’s DOJ to release the Epstein files. Instead, they’re continuing their cover up to hide the truth & protect the wealthy & well-connected. Release the full files now. The people deserve the truth & the victims deserve justice.”
Turning attention to education on August 20, 2025, Lee shared her involvement with a local initiative and legislative plans: “When our kids are equipped for success, they are empowered to succeed. Yesterday, I spent the day distributing school supplies with @EduPartnership, and I’m looking forward to introducing the Access to School Supplies Act so every student has the basic tools they need to”.
Summer Lee began representing Pennsylvania’s 12th congressional district in 2023 after succeeding Mike Doyle. Before her tenure in Congress, she served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 2019 through 2022 and holds degrees from both Pennsylvania State University and Howard University. Born in Pittsburgh in 1987 and currently residing in Swissvale, Lee continues her advocacy on issues ranging from voting rights and government transparency to educational access.
