Rep. Summer Lee, currently serving Pennsylvania’s 12th District in the U.S. Congress, shared her thoughts and activities through a series of tweets focused on community action, art celebration, and recognition of local talents.
On April 26, 2025, Rep. Lee tweeted about a town hall event held in Westmoreland County, advocating for proactive community engagement. “It’s not enough to hope things get better — we have to organize to make them better,” she stated. The event focused on action, accountability, and connection, with gratitude expressed towards Greater Westmoreland County Labor Council and Westmoreland County Democrats for their support.
Two days later, on April 28, 2025, she congratulated the winners of the Congressional Art Competition via a tweet. Rep. Lee highlighted the talents within Pennsylvania’s 12th District, expressing pride in displaying their work in the halls of Congress. She extended her appreciation to the Carnegie Science Center for their assistance with the event.
In a follow-up tweet on the same day, Rep. Lee provided details on the artworks to be displayed. “Creative Mind” will be showcased in the U.S. Capitol, “City Bridges” in her DC office, and “Lunar Legacy” in her District office, recognizing the artistic achievements of her constituents.
Summer Lee joined the U.S. Congress in 2023 after succeeding former member Mike Doyle. Prior to her congressional role, she served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 2019-2022. Born in Pittsburgh and residing in Swissvale, she holds a BA from Pennsylvania State University and a JD from Howard University.
