Rep. Summer Lee, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Pennsylvania’s 12th district, recently used her social media platform to highlight local workforce initiatives, criticize federal actions regarding the release of Epstein files, and call for accountability in the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
On August 21, 2025, Lee posted about support for a Pittsburgh-based job training initiative: “The Trade Institute of Pittsburgh is helping folks build skills that last a lifetime and empowering those facing barriers to employment. I am so proud to celebrate the $450,000 we secured for their transitional jobs program. Together, we’ll keep fighting for investments in https://t.co/47lrnv7zlb”.
The following day, on August 22, she addressed concerns about the delayed release of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein: “Trump and his DOJ are obstructing justice by trying to slow-walk releasing the Epstein files to protect the wealthy and well-connected. I joined the Court of History to break down what’s going on https://t.co/evxAOaNkRg”.
Later that same day, Lee commented on conditions in Gaza: “This man-made famine was preventable. Israel continues to block food, medication, and essentials to starve Palestinians. Half a million people, including children, are dying and our tax dollars are paying for it. The US must hold the Israeli government accountable. Let aid in. https://t.co/whGCKc3ICy”.
Lee has served as U.S. Representative since 2023 after succeeding Mike Doyle and previously held office in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 2019 to 2022. Born in Pittsburgh in 1987 and currently residing in Swissvale, she holds degrees from Pennsylvania State University (BA) and Howard University (JD).
