Rep. Summer Lee, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Pennsylvania’s 12th district since 2023, has used her social media platform to address several pressing issues including housing policy, immigration enforcement, and congressional oversight.
On January 20, 2026, Lee criticized the current state of housing in the United States by stating: “Too many families are living in homes owned by some distant investor who treats them like a paycheck instead of people. This is the result of a system that subsidizes corporate landlords while everyday people struggle to find a safe, stable place to call home. I’m proud to join https://t.co/biIQ1Ogwlg”.
Later that same day, Lee commented on ongoing debates about U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), referencing recent polling data and legislative proposals: “It’s always been abolish ICE. Last week, a new poll found that for the first time, more Americans support abolishing ICE than oppose it. This week, Republicans are proposing hundreds of millions in funding for this lawless agency. I will oppose this bill. We cannot give more https://t.co/ZG7Fai4gfI”.
On January 21, 2026, Lee announced her introduction of an amendment targeting Pam Bondi regarding compliance with congressional subpoenas related to the Epstein investigation: “I just introduced an amendment to hold Pam Bondi in civil contempt of Congress. Since August, she has been legally compelled by our bipartisan subpoena to release the full, unredacted Epstein files. Without the full files, we can’t have a serious investigation. It’s time she https://t.co/UvYarO2XK6”.
Summer Lee began serving in Congress after replacing Mike Doyle in 2023 and previously held office in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 2019 through 2022. Born in Pittsburgh in 1987 and currently residing in Swissvale at age 35, Lee earned her undergraduate degree from Pennsylvania State University and later received her law degree from Howard University.
