Rep. Summer Lee, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Pennsylvania’s 12th district, has recently expressed her views on various pressing issues through a series of tweets. Lee, who succeeded Mike Doyle in 2023 and previously served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 2019 to 2022, shared her concerns about government operations, wage standards, and international conflicts.

On March 15, Rep. Summer Lee tweeted about the potential consequences of a government shutdown. She stated: “No one wants a government shutdown. We know the harm it causes our people, workers, and agencies.” She criticized Senate Democrats for not taking a strong stand against what she perceives as threats to democracy by Trump and Republicans.

Two days later, on March 17, Lee addressed economic issues affecting American workers. In her tweet, she lamented the rollback of wages: “From $17.75/hr back to $7.25/hr.” She emphasized that the current administration’s policies are detrimental amidst rising living costs and advocated for fair wages.

On March 18, Rep. Lee commented on international affairs concerning Israel and Palestine. Her tweet highlighted alleged violations by Israel: “Once again our timelines are flooded with horrific images of Palestinian babies massacred by the Israeli government.” She accused Israel of breaking ceasefire agreements and cutting off aid to Gaza while condemning these actions as being backed by the U.S.
