Rep. Summer Lee, who represents Pennsylvania’s 12th district in the U.S. Congress, recently highlighted several legislative developments and local achievements in a series of posts on her official Twitter account.
On January 9, 2026, Lee announced new federal funding for infrastructure and community projects in Western Pennsylvania. She wrote, “This week we had some big wins for Western PA! The House advanced nearly $2 million in federal funding to improve wastewater treatment in Bethel Park, replace water lines in Monroeville, and expand the Juvenile Justice Prevention Project in Pittsburgh. Later that day, Lee addressed proposed legislation related to college campus resources. She stated on January 9, 2026, “This week, Republicans brought forward a bill requiring colleges and universities to provide students with resources for sham crisis pregnancy centers that push anti-abortion disinformation. On January 10, 2026, Lee congratulated the Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority (PWSA) for reaching a public health milestone. She posted, “Congrats to @pgh2o on replacing the 14,000th lead service line! This is a major milestone for the safety and health of our neighbors as we work to get rid of every residential lead pipe in Western PA. I’m proud this was made possible in part by historic federal investments.”
Lee has represented Pennsylvania’s 12th district since 2023 after succeeding Mike Doyle. Prior to her election to Congress, she served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 2019 to 2022. Born in Pittsburgh in 1987 and currently residing in Swissvale, Lee earned her undergraduate degree from Pennsylvania State University and later received her law degree from Howard University.
