The Baltimore Ravens defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 34-17 in a crucial AFC North matchup at M&T Bank Stadium. The game was marked by turnovers and a strong rushing performance from the Ravens, who managed to recover three fumbles and intercept Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson once.
The Ravens took advantage of early mistakes, recovering two of their own fumbles and one by Wilson near their goal line, leading to a 17-10 halftime lead. A key moment came when Marlon Humphrey intercepted a pass from Wilson and returned it 37 yards for a touchdown, solidifying Baltimore’s victory.
Wilson threw for 217 yards and two touchdowns despite missing top wide receiver George Pickens. However, his turnovers were costly. “I thought I had a chance to get in the end zone,” said Wilson about his fumble near the goal line. “It’s unacceptable. It can’t happen.”
Lamar Jackson led the Ravens with three touchdown passes and one interception. Derrick Henry contributed significantly with 162 rushing yards on 24 carries, as Baltimore amassed 223 rushing yards in total.
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin acknowledged the team’s shortcomings: “We didn’t control the run game… You’ve got to control the run… We failed in both areas.”
Despite the loss, Pittsburgh remains tied with Baltimore at 10-5 atop the AFC North due to tiebreakers. The Steelers have upcoming games against Kansas City and Cincinnati, while Baltimore will face Houston and Cleveland.
