Pittsburgh Regional Transit (PRT) has released a second draft of its Bus Line Refresh plan. The updated proposal aims to improve the reliability and frequency of bus service, offer seven-day coverage, and strengthen connections across the city’s transit network.

According to PRT, this new draft incorporates feedback from both riders and operators. It reduces some of the major changes proposed in the first version, with an emphasis on maintaining popular routes that are already working well. Another significant change is the creation of a new transit center in Oakland, which is intended to improve access between North and South Hills neighborhoods without requiring passengers to transfer downtown for every trip.

PRT is seeking additional public input before moving forward with these updates. Community members can attend a pop-up event at William Pitt Union Patio (facing Forbes Avenue) on March 18 from 2-6 p.m., co-hosted by the Pittsburgh Student Advocacy Network.

“Now, PRT wants your thoughts before changes are implemented: Stop by William Pitt Union Patio (facing Forbes Avenue) on March 18, 2-6 p.m., for a pop-up event co-hosted by the Pittsburgh Student Advocacy Network.”

A full list of proposed countywide changes is available on PRT’s website.
