Emil Pieniniemi is another defenseman returning for his second development camp following a successful season with Kingston Frontenacs in the Ontario Hockey League. In that time he ranked fourth on his team and sixth among OHL defensemen with sixty points in sixty games. Additionally, he won a silver medal representing Team Finland at the World Junior Championship this year.
New attendees at this year’s development camp include forwards Melvin Fernstrom and Mikhail Ilyin who have recently signed contracts with Pittsburgh.
The five-day event will feature both on-ice and off-ice sessions divided among three groups culminating in a tournament on July seventh. All sessions are open to public attendance free of charge.
