The Pittsburgh Penguins secured a 7-3 victory against the Philadelphia Flyers, marking their ninth win in the last 13 games. Sidney Crosby led with four points, while Michael Bunting scored twice. Other contributors included Bryan Rust, Rickard Rakell, Phil Tomasino, and Blake Lizotte. Tristan Jarry made 23 saves.

Crosby expressed optimism about the team’s performance: “We’re definitely excited about the break, but I think we’re all encouraged by the way we’re playing and want to keep going,” he said.

Crosby tied Mario Lemieux for most assists in Penguins history during this game. Reflecting on this achievement, Crosby remarked: “I didn’t ever think I’d be close to that. I played a lot of games. He played a lot less than I did.”

Penguins coach Mike Sullivan praised Crosby’s milestone: “I just think it’s one more piece of evidence to suggest that Sid is one of the very best players of all time,” he said.

The top line of Crosby, Rust, and Rakell has been particularly effective recently. They have combined for 21 goals and 53 points over three weeks. Discussing their success, Crosby noted: “We’re just burying our chances.”

Bunting thrived in his first experience of the Penguins-Flyers rivalry with two key goals. He acknowledged teammate Kevin Hayes’ advice helped him overcome early-season struggles: “He’ll love this… ‘this too shall pass.’ And I’ve kind of just been rolling with that,” Bunting shared.
