The Pittsburgh Penguins have announced the acquisition of defenseman Egor Zamula from the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for forward Philip Tomasino. The transaction was confirmed by Kyle Dubas, President of Hockey Operations and General Manager.
Zamula, who is under contract through the 2025-26 season with an average annual value of $1.7 million, has played 13 games for the Flyers this season, recording one assist and a plus-4 rating. He also appeared in three games for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms in the American Hockey League, where he notched two assists.
Over his six-year professional career within the Flyers organization, Zamula has registered 41 points (8 goals and 33 assists) in 168 regular-season NHL games. At the AHL level with Lehigh Valley, he has accumulated five goals, 51 assists, and a total of 56 points across 130 games.
Originally from Chelyabinsk, Russia, Zamula represented his country at the 2020 World Junior Championship and contributed five points (three goals and two assists) over seven games to help secure a silver medal. Before turning professional, he spent three years in the Western Hockey League playing for both the Regina Pats and Calgary Hitmen.
