The Pittsburgh Penguins have secured the 11th overall pick in the upcoming 2025 NHL Draft. This outcome follows the results of the 2025 NHL Draft Lottery, where the New York Islanders, seeded tenth, won the first draw. The Utah Hockey Club, seeded fourteenth, claimed victory in the second draw, thus finalizing Pittsburgh’s position at eleventh.

In addition to their own pick, there is a possibility for the Penguins to acquire another selection. The New York Rangers currently hold the 12th overall pick but may transfer it to Pittsburgh as part of a previous trade agreement with the Vancouver Canucks dated January 31, 2025. The Rangers are required to notify Pittsburgh of their decision by June 25, two days before the draft begins.

The event known as the “2025 Upper Deck NHL Draft” is scheduled for June 27-28 and will be held at L.A. Live’s Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
