The Pittsburgh Penguins will face the Boston Bruins at TD Garden, with puck drop scheduled for 7 PM. The game will be broadcast on SportsNet Pittsburgh and available for radio listeners on 105.9 The X and the Penguins app.

The Penguins hold a record of 31-15-13, while the Bruins are at 33-21-5. In their last five meetings at TD Garden, both teams have alternated wins, with Pittsburgh currently having a 2-3-0 record in those games. The Penguins aim to end a three-game losing streak against Boston but bring momentum from earning points in seven consecutive road games (5-0-2) and securing points in 14 of their last 15 overall contests (10-1-4).

Rickard Rakell has recorded 19 points in 23 games against the Bruins, including four multi-point performances. Anthony Mantha has registered 14 points in 20 career games versus Boston, highlighted by a hat trick and five-point outing on March 31, 2019, as well as a four-point game on March 6, 2018. Egor Chinakhov enters tonight’s matchup with points in nine of his last eleven games.

Pittsburgh is among the league leaders in players with at least 20 goals this season; only Washington and Vegas have more such scorers than the Penguins’ Sidney Crosby, Anthony Mantha, and Bryan Rust. Additionally, no forward line with a minimum of 250 minutes played together has allowed fewer goals at even strength than Pittsburgh’s fourth line of Noel Acciari, Connor Dewar, and Blake Lizotte.

Goaltending remains strong for Pittsburgh. Stuart Skinner has helped secure points in seven straight starts (5-0-2), allowing one goal or fewer in five of those outings. Arturs Silovs is coming off a shutout performance against Vegas and holds a record of 5-1-0 over his last six starts with a .938 save percentage since January 22.

Erik Karlsson recently tied Scott Stevens for 13th all-time among defensemen with his two-assist game against Vegas, bringing his career total to 908 points. He is now two points shy of reaching forty this season and could soon become just the tenth defenseman to post thirteen or more forty-point seasons.

Ben Kindel continues to make an impact during his rookie year; he scored his fifteenth goal—his fourth game-winner—against Vegas and now ties for fifth-most game-winning goals by an eighteen-year-old in NHL history.

The Penguins’ road record stands at 16-7-6, ranking them fifth in road point percentage across the NHL this season.

Anthony Mantha carries an active five-game point streak into tonight’s contest, leading Pittsburgh with fifteen points over the past twelve games. Since joining the team on January 1st, Egor Chinakhov has contributed fourteen points over twenty-one games—the highest goal tally among all current Penguins during that span.

Rickard Rakell is approaching another milestone; he needs three assists to reach three hundred for his career. Sam Girard is also close to achieving two hundred career assists as a defenseman. Kris Letang sits one point away from eight hundred career NHL points—all earned as a Penguin—and would become only the ninth defenseman to achieve that total with one franchise.

Both Letang and Karlsson rank highly among active defensemen for their scoring against Boston.
