The Pittsburgh Penguins are set to play three home games at PPG Paints Arena before heading out on a two-game road trip and the NHL’s Olympic break. The team currently holds second place in the Metropolitan Division with a 26-14-11 record and has secured points in each of its last seven games after a successful 4-0-0 road trip. Tickets for all three upcoming games can be purchased through www.ticketmaster.com/penguins.
The homestand begins on January 29, when the Penguins face the Chicago Blackhawks, led by 2023 first overall draft pick Connor Bedard. This game is part of ‘Hockey Talks’ night, an NHL-wide initiative focused on mental health awareness. Ticket packages for Pickleball Night, which include a Penguins-branded pickleball paddle and cover, as well as college series specials featuring co-branded quarter zips for Duquesne University, Point Park University, and Waynesburg University, are available. The Penguins have an 11-6-6 record against Western Conference teams this season.
On January 31, the New York Rangers will visit Pittsburgh as the Penguins celebrate their 2016 Stanley Cup Championship Reunion. A pre-game ceremony will mark the tenth anniversary of the championship team. All fans attending will receive a commemorative championship ring provided by PPG. Doors open at 2:00 PM ahead of the 3:30 PM puck drop. The event will be broadcast nationally on ABC and locally with a pre-game special on WTAE.
The homestand concludes February 2 with a matchup against the Ottawa Senators. The evening will feature a ‘Global Greats Send Off’, recognizing Penguins players selected to represent their countries at the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026. The game also serves as the annual ‘Black History Game’. Fans in attendance will receive rally towels from CNX, and there is a special ticket package that includes a Black History Hockey Shirt designed by local artist Cue Perry.
Fans planning to attend any of these games are advised to allow extra time for travel due to expected stormy weather and cold temperatures this weekend. To speed up entry into PPG Paints Arena, attendees should remove items such as keys and phones from their pockets when approaching arena doors for security screening. Bags are discouraged except for medical bags, diaper bags, or small wristlets or wallets larger than four inches by six inches by one-and-a-half inches; these may require additional screening at designated entrances.
