The Pittsburgh Penguins will host their 15th annual Charity Game on SportsNet Pittsburgh on Thursday, February 26. The event is set to benefit both the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation and the Mario Lemieux Foundation.

Yvonne Maher, Executive Director of the Penguins Foundation, announced this year’s theme as “Legends,” focusing on key figures from the team’s history. “We are thrilled to unveil that ‘Legends’ is the theme of this year’s Penguins Charity Game, honoring the iconic figures of Penguins history with exclusively branded and retro-inspired items,” Maher said. “This is our biggest event of the year. In only one night, we hope to raise $2 million for charity.” She added, “Last season, individuals from every state in the US purchased a bag, and 11 Canadian provinces and territories, a powerful reflection of the loyalty of our fans, for which we are incredibly thankful.”

More than 5,000 Penguins Charity Bags will be available for purchase online starting at 5:30 PM ET during the game against the New Jersey Devils. For the first time since 2020, a limited number of Black Charity Bags will also be sold onsite at PPG Paints Arena when doors open at 6:00 PM EST. Fans must have a valid ticket to buy these bags in person; all other bags can be purchased online at www.pittsburghpenguinsfoundation.org while supplies last.

Three tiers—Platinum, Gold, and Black—will be offered. Each bag includes an autographed photo from either a member of the current roster or Hall-of-Famer Mario Lemieux.

Black Charity Bags feature items such as an opportunity for a signed third jersey from this season’s team, a retro viewer commemorating the 2016 Stanley Cup Champions, mini trading card bobbleheads featuring Hall of Fame inductees from 2025, themed thermos and lunchbox sets, and a retro canvas duffle bag.

Gold Charity Bags include all Black tier items plus guaranteed autographed jerseys and commemorative framed photos.

Platinum Charity Bags offer everything in both lower tiers along with additional memorabilia such as an autographed helmet by Mario Lemieux and special edition jerseys signed by Marc-André Fleury and Kris Letang.

Details about what each bag contains can be found at https://pittsburghpenguinsfoundation.org/charity-game-preview.

Since its inception fourteen years ago, this annual charity event has raised nearly $23 million for its two benefitting foundations.

The Pittsburgh Penguins were established in 1967 as a professional ice hockey team based in Pittsburgh.
