Penguins and FNB award grants to winners of small business development camp

The Pittsburgh Penguins and First National Bank (FNB), the largest subsidiary of F.N.B. Corporation, have announced Street Fries as the winner of the 2025 FNB Small Business Development Camp. The program is designed to support local small businesses in Pittsburgh.

At the conclusion of a six-week development camp, five participating businesses presented their business plans to a panel of judges. The top three were awarded portions of a $50,000 grant for their operations. All five companies will also receive marketing opportunities with the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Finalists were evaluated on how they planned to use capital and marketing resources to grow annual sales and impact their communities. Judges assessed each business’s strategic approach and potential community benefit.

Street Fries received a $25,000 grant as the first-place winner. The company operates a local dining establishment known for its fresh-cut fries with both local and international flavors, offering food truck and catering services. Heirs Barber and Social Shop was awarded second place with a $15,000 grant, while iShip & Pack came in third with a $10,000 grant.

Other participants included Arkenstone Technologies and The Behavior Institute. All five businesses will gain exposure through marketing assets at Penguins games during the remainder of the 2025-26 season.

The selected businesses took part in workshops led by executives from FNB, the Penguins, and Riverside Center for Innovation (RCI). Topics covered included financial services for small businesses, pricing models, marketing strategies, attracting investors, team management, and pitch preparation.
