The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed three players to new contracts, as announced by President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Kyle Dubas. Forwards Anthony Mantha and Rafael Harvey-Pinard have each agreed to one-year deals, while defenseman Phil Kemp has secured a two-year contract.
Anthony Mantha’s contract extends through the 2025-26 season with an average annual value of $2.5 million. Over his 10-year NHL career, the 30-year-old has played for teams including Calgary, Vegas, Washington, and Detroit. In 507 regular-season games, he has accumulated 146 goals and 157 assists. His most successful season was in 2018-19 with the Detroit Red Wings when he scored a personal best of 25 goals and collected a total of 48 points.
Rafael Harvey-Pinard, aged 26, joins from the Montreal Canadiens organization on a contract valued at $775,000 annually at the NHL level for the same duration as Mantha’s deal. Last season he played one game with the Canadiens and spent much of his time with their AHL affiliate team, Laval Rocket. Harvey-Pinard achieved his career highs during the 2022-23 season with Montreal.
Phil Kemp’s agreement runs through the end of the 2026-27 season with an annual value matching that of Harvey-Pinard’s at $775,000 in the NHL. Kemp played last season in the AHL for Bakersfield Condors where he contributed seven goals over 56 games.
Dubas stated that these signings will enhance team depth and provide valuable experience across both forward and defensive positions.
