Juan Thornhill, a seasoned NFL safety, has been signed to a one-year contract during the free agency period. Entering his seventh season in the league, Thornhill has played in 87 games and started 74 of them. His career statistics include 335 tackles, with 232 being solo efforts, eight interceptions—one of which was returned for a touchdown during his rookie year—six tackles for loss, one sack, 24 passes defensed, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.
Thornhill has been part of two Super Bowl-winning teams with the Kansas City Chiefs: Super Bowl LIV and LVII. Before his professional career, he played college football at Virginia. There he participated in 46 games and started 36. He ended his college tenure with 208 tackles (140 solo), 26 passes defensed, 13 interceptions, and one forced fumble.
In recognition of his high school achievements, Thornhill was inducted into the Altavista High School Hall of Fame in 2022. During high school, he excelled as both a safety and quarterback and received several accolades including Group 1A VHSL State Player of the Year.
In 2023, Thornhill returned to Lynchburg, Virginia where he engaged with fans by throwing out the first pitch at a Lynchburg Hillcats game. He also participated in autograph signings and met fans at the event.
