Kenneth Gainwell was named the Steelers Digest Player of the Week following his performance in Pittsburgh’s 24-21 win over Minnesota. The game, which marked the first NFL regular season contest played in Ireland, saw Gainwell step up after Jaylen Warren was sidelined by a late-week injury.
Gainwell rushed for 99 yards on 19 carries, averaging 5.2 yards per attempt, and scored two touchdowns. He also contributed as a receiver with six catches for 35 yards, totaling 134 yards from scrimmage.
Other players considered for the honor included DeShon Elliott, who recorded six tackles, one sack, two quarterback hits, an interception, two passes defensed, and a forced fumble; Nick Herbig with five tackles and 1.5 sacks; DK Metcalf with five receptions for 126 yards including an 80-yard touchdown; Aaron Rodgers who completed 18 of 22 passes for 200 yards and one touchdown; Patrick Queen with eleven tackles and one sack; T.J. Watt who had five tackles and an interception; Payton Wilson with thirteen tackles; and Keeanu Benton who added four tackles and 1.5 sacks.
