Jacksonville tops UAB 10-2 behind Central Catholic alum Dominic Pieto

At 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 27, Dominic Pieto, a graduate and former Central Catholic High School player, helped lead the Jacksonville Dolphins to a 10-2 win over the UAB Blazers in an NCAA Division I baseball contest.

The matchup was held at Jerry D. Young Memorial Field and marked the season’s first meeting between the Dolphins and the Blazers.

Pieto pitched 1.1 innings, giving up two earned runs, with two walks and one strikeout.

The Dolphins return to action against the UAB Blazers on Saturday, Feb. 28, at 1 p.m. at Jerry D. Young Memorial Field.
