Daniel Ekuale, a defensive tackle, has been signed to a one-year contract during the recent free agency period. Over his seven-season career, Ekuale has participated in 57 games and started 21 of them. His career statistics include 91 tackles, with 49 being solo stops, along with eight tackles for a loss, six sacks, nine quarterback hits, one pass defense, and one forced fumble.
Ekuale’s most recent tenure was with the New England Patriots. He joined their practice squad at the beginning of the 2021 season and spent four seasons with them. During this time, he played in 41 games and started in 16. His performance included recording 74 tackles (40 solo), five sacks, six tackles for a loss, eight quarterback hits, one pass defense, and one forced fumble.
Before his time with the Patriots, Ekuale was signed by the Cleveland Browns as an undrafted free agent following the 2018 NFL Draft. In Cleveland, he spent his first year on the practice squad before appearing in seven games in 2019 where he achieved four tackles (three solo) and one tackle for a loss. Additionally, Ekuale spent a season playing for Jacksonville.
Ekuale played college football at Washington State University where he appeared in 51 games and made 22 starts. During his college career, he amassed 71 tackles along with three sacks and two forced fumbles.
