Chris Boswell has once again been recognized for his exceptional performance, earning the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week award for Week 11. Coach Mike Tomlin expressed high praise for Boswell during a press conference, stating, “What can you say about Chris Boswell in 2024 that hadn’t been written or said. He’s been everything that we need him to be.”

Boswell was instrumental in the Pittsburgh Steelers’ narrow 18-16 victory over the Baltimore Ravens by scoring all points through six field goals. His impressive kicks included three from distances exceeding 50 yards.

Reflecting on his performance, Boswell stated, “I’m just here to do my job, and we needed six today.” This marks the second occasion this season where he kicked six field goals and three from beyond 50 yards, previously achieving this feat against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 1.

Tomlin humorously remarked after the game, “I love Boz, and I’m tired of him getting player of the week,” acknowledging Boswell’s consistent excellence but also highlighting areas for team improvement.

Quarterback Russell Wilson praised Boswell’s reliability in crucial moments, noting his composure and confidence. “When you’ve got a guy that you can trust and know that he’s going to have no fear, we just believe in him,” Wilson said.

This achievement adds to Boswell’s career accolades as he has now won the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week award four times. He has successfully made 29 out of 30 field goal attempts this season with a long of 57 yards hit twice.

Boswell’s tenure with the Steelers since 2015 has seen him make an impressive mark with an accuracy rate of 88.1% on field goal attempts. His previous honors include being named AFC Special Teams Player of the Month multiple times.
