Beginning this month, the Allegheny Health Network (AHN) Primary Care Institute will oversee the Student Health Center at Slippery Rock University (SRU). This initiative aims to enhance healthcare services for students by providing convenient on-campus access to medical care.

Under the leadership of Medical Director Sunjay Mannan, MD, a team of experienced AHN registered nurses and advanced practice providers will staff the center. The services offered include treatment for common illnesses and injuries, preventative care such as annual physicals and immunizations, and support for chronic conditions, women’s health concerns, and mental health challenges.

Amy Crawford-Faucher, MD, chair of AHN Primary Care Institute, stated: “This partnership exemplifies AHN’s commitment to providing accessible, high-quality care to the communities we serve.” She added that bringing AHN clinicians directly to campus aims to create a healthier learning environment for SRU students.

Located in the renovated Campus Success Center, the Student Health Center operates Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturdays from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. For urgent needs outside these hours, students can access telehealth services via MyChart for virtual consultations with AHN providers. In cases requiring more advanced care, referrals will be made to the emergency department at nearby AHN Grove City Hospital.

David Wilmes, SRU vice president for student affairs commented: “Slippery Rock University looks forward to partnering with Allegheny Health Network as we expand our service offerings for our students.” He noted that AHN has a strong record of delivering quality student health services in western Pennsylvania.

Students may schedule appointments by calling 724-738-2052 or visiting https://www.sru.edu/offices/student-health-services.
