Allegheny Health Network (AHN) Wexford Hospital has received the Platinum-Plus award from Crothall Healthcare, recognizing its environmental services (EVS) team for outstanding performance in 2025. Crothall Healthcare has managed the hospital’s EVS operations since April 2020.

The EVS department at AHN Wexford is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and safety throughout the facility, which includes patient rooms, operating rooms, and common areas. These efforts are crucial to infection prevention, patient safety, and overall satisfaction.

To qualify for the Platinum-Plus status, Crothall Healthcare requires EVS teams to exceed a set threshold across six business excellence criteria by the end of the fiscal year. At AHN Wexford, key achievements included reaching the 98th percentile in HCAHPS cleanliness scores, indicating high patient satisfaction with hospital hygiene standards. The department also reported consistently high employee engagement scores and demonstrated a strong commitment to quality through regular audits and best practices.

A third-party administrator validated Crothall’s program implementation at AHN Wexford with a score of 99.6%, reflecting adherence to standardized procedures. The hospital also maintains a succession plan within its EVS team to ensure leadership continuity.

Allan Klapper, MD, president of AHN Wexford Hospital, stated: “This award underscores the unwavering dedication of our Environmental Services team to maintaining an impeccably clean and safe environment for our patients, visitors and staff. Their hard work directly contributes to our hospital’s high standards of patient care and satisfaction, and we congratulate them on this well-deserved achievement.”

Crothall Healthcare provides support services exclusively to healthcare organizations across forty-six states and territories through nearly 1,300 service teams.
