Allegheny Health Network (AHN) Prehospital Care Services announced that AHN Canonsburg Ambulance will become the primary emergency medical services provider for Peters Township starting March 29. The decision follows a comprehensive review by township officials of available EMS options, which resulted in the selection of AHN.
The AHN Canonsburg Ambulance team is staffed around the clock by Pennsylvania Department of Health-certified paramedics, emergency medical technicians (EMTs), and advanced EMTs. These professionals are equipped to deliver Advanced Life Support and other advanced emergency care. The service operates with a fleet of seven vehicles fitted with modern technology and equipment.
In addition to responding to emergencies, the ambulance service provides transportation to local hospitals for patients experiencing acute conditions such as heart attacks, strokes, or trauma when medically necessary.
For more than 25 years, AHN Canonsburg Ambulance has served communities in Washington County, including Donegal Township, Canonsburg, Houston Borough, and Chartiers Township.
Bob Twaddle, Ed.D., EMT-P, vice president of AHN Prehospital Care Services said: “We are incredibly proud the Peters Township Council selected AHN to serve as their primary EMS provider. This partnership underscores our dedication to providing exceptional emergency medical care and reinforces our commitment to community wellbeing. We look forward to closely collaborating with Peters Township to honor the legacy of the VFW and ensure their residents receive the highest standard of care when they need it most.”
AHN Prehospital Care Services also includes physician-led EMS direction, education programs, quality assurance initiatives, business development efforts, special operations in medicine, critical care air and ground transport through LifeFlight, and management of EMS communications centers.
