Allegheny Health Network (AHN) Cancer Institute will host its monthly Saturday cancer screening clinic on April 18 at the AHN Cancer Institute – Forbes, located at 2626 Haymaker Road in Monroeville, Pa., according to a March 11 announcement.

The event aims to make cancer screenings more accessible for both AHN and non-AHN patients. Appointments are required and can be made by calling 412-359-6665. The clinic encourages participation from individuals with or without insurance.

In April of the previous year, the Forbes screening event saw attendance from 84 patients who received a total of 140 screenings. Patients with abnormal results are advised to seek further testing.

Screenings offered during the clinic include breast cancer (ages 40-74), cervical cancer (ages 21-65), colorectal cancer (ages 45-75), head and neck cancers (ages 18+), lung cancer (ages 50-80 with a history of cigarette smoking), prostate cancer (ages 45-75), and skin cancer (ages 18+). Multiple screenings can be completed in one visit at this location.

Since launching comprehensive screening services in 2014, AHN Cancer Institute has expanded its monthly Saturday events across Western Pennsylvania over the past five years due to ongoing demand for prevention and early detection. For those unable to attend on April 18, appointments for comprehensive screenings are also available at AHN West Penn Hospital, AHN Jefferson Hospital, and AHN Forbes Hospital by calling the same number.
