Allegheny Health Network (AHN) Cancer Institute is set to hold its monthly cancer screening clinic on Saturday, August 16, at the AHN Wexford Health + Wellness Pavilion in Wexford, Pennsylvania. The screenings are open to both AHN and non-AHN patients, regardless of their insurance status.

Appointments can be scheduled by calling 412-359-6665. The event will offer multiple screenings for various types of cancer, including breast, cervical, colorectal, head and neck, lung, prostate, and skin cancers.

Physicians emphasize the importance of early detection for successful treatment outcomes. “With only 18% of eligible Americans receiving lung cancer screenings, we must remove barriers to improve early detection and survival rates,” stated James Betler, DO, director of the AHN Cancer Institute Growth and Outreach. “Our accessible monthly cancer screenings provide an opportunity for individuals to proactively take charge of their health.”

In a previous event held in August 2024 at Wexford, 78 patients completed 255 screenings. Upcoming events are scheduled at AHN Saint Vincent Hospital in Erie on September 13 and at AHN Grove City on October 11.

The AHN Cancer Institute has been offering comprehensive cancer screenings since 2014. The success of these programs has led to their expansion across Western Pennsylvania over the past four years.

For those unable to attend the Saturday clinic, comprehensive cancer screenings can also be scheduled by appointment at Jefferson, Forbes, or West Penn Hospitals by calling 412-359-6665.
